Privacy Policy
What we do with the information you share with us, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are
Dubai Nine Lives Rescue is a volunteer cat rescue group based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what personal data we collect through dubaininelivesrescue.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@dubaininelives.com or on +971 54 704 6784.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us:
- Adoption and contact enquiries — your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, city and country, housing situation, landlord permission status, details of other pets, previous experience with cats, and a description of your household and daily routine.
- Volunteer and foster enquiries — your name, contact details and availability.
- Correspondence — the content of emails, WhatsApp messages and video calls with our team.
We do not collect payment card details through this website, and we do not use advertising or profiling cookies.
Why we use it and our legal basis
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — you tick the consent box before submitting an adoption application. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Steps prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — assessing your application and arranging the adoption.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — safeguarding the welfare of a cat we have rescued, including post-adoption follow-up.
We use your information to assess whether a home is suitable, to arrange the video home check and meet and greet, to prepare export and import paperwork, to coordinate the flight, and to stay in touch after the adoption. We never sell your data.
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, only with parties directly involved in your adoption:
- Veterinary clinics and laboratories preparing your cat for travel.
- Licensed pet relocation companies and airlines, who require the recipient’s name and address on the paperwork.
- Government authorities that issue export permits and animal health certificates.
- The form and email providers that host our contact form and inbox.
Because our team is based in the United Arab Emirates, personal data of EEA and UK residents is transferred outside the EEA. Where that transfer is necessary to perform the adoption you have requested, we rely on Article 49(1)(b) of the GDPR. We keep such transfers to the minimum needed to complete your adoption.
How long we keep it
Unsuccessful or withdrawn enquiries are deleted within 12 months. Records relating to a completed adoption are kept for the lifetime of the cat so we can honour our commitment to take the cat back or help if your circumstances change.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, withdraw consent, and receive a copy in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email hello@dubaininelives.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts and icon styles are loaded from Google Fonts and Cloudflare’s CDN, which receive your IP address as a normal part of serving those files. If we add analytics in future we will update this page and ask for consent where required.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever our practices change, and revise the date shown above.
