We adopt exclusively to indoor-only homes where the cat is kept safe inside. Adopters must be at least 21 years of age, have landlord permission (if renting), and install secure window meshes/screens if windows are opened. A video home check is required.
All our rescued cats are based in our foster home in Dubai, and we facilitate direct adoptions from their foster home in Dubai to their forever homes globally. The process is strict and transparent:
- Application: You submit an adoption application detailing your home environment.
- Virtual Tour / Check: A video tour of your home is conducted to check for safety requirements like window screens.
- Meet & Greet: A video call is scheduled so you can see the cat interact in their Dubai foster home.
- Flight Coordination & Handoff: We coordinate with an authorized pet relocation company, obtain mandatory MOCCAE health certificates, and drop the cat off at a UAE airport. The relocation company handles arrival quarantine/health checks and arranges registered pet taxi delivery directly to your home.
Our adoption fee is vital to sustaining our rescue efforts. The fee covers a portion of the extensive veterinary care each cat receives, including neutering/spaying, vaccinations, microchipping, deworming, and any necessary medical treatments prior to adoption. For international adoptions, this fee also contributes towards the significant costs of relocation, flight cargo, and export permits.
Under UAE fundraising laws, unregistered groups cannot solicit public cash. To support us legally and safely, you can pay our veterinary bills directly to our partner clinics over the phone. You can also purchase items on our Amazon UAE wishlist and have them shipped to us.
Fostering means providing a temporary, loving home for a cat while we search for their permanent home. Dubai Nine Lives Rescue covers all veterinary treatments and provides food/litter supplies. You provide the space, attention, and socialization. Fostering is vital to save rescue costs.
We champion Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We humanely trap stray community cats, bring them to partner clinics for neutering, ear-tipping (the global indicator of a neutered stray), and vaccination, and release them back to their colony where volunteers feed them daily.
